Norwegian Government Wants Minimum Income For All

The new Norwegian government wants to introduce a minimum income of NOK 100,000 for all Norwegians, regardless of health or work status.

This minimum wage is to replace all existing insurances through the social security system.

"In this way we protect the dignity of the individual who is in difficulty and at the same time we make the official bureaucracy more effective", says socio-political spokeswoman for the Liberal Left, May Britt Vihovde to the Norwegian newspaper the Dagbladet.

She points out that the bureaucracy of the present system consumes a lot of resources and time.
